We buy H20, H24 and H27 timber formwork beams of any length — from 10 beams. Valuation in 30–60 minutes, payment on the spot
A formwork I-beam is a timber beam with solid-wood flanges and a web of multi-layer board; in slab formwork it carries the plywood deck. Beams last a long time, so even after several projects selling them usually beats storing them. Formex buys beams directly, with no middleman, and prices them per running metre.
20 cm high — the most common size, so it gets the top price.
24 cm high — also a popular size, valued on a par with H20.
27 cm high — a high price thanks to demand.
Cosmetic defects and moderate wear are fine. Beams with serious damage to their geometry are valued individually.
We assess a beam by how well it keeps its geometry and whether the end caps are intact. The price is set after inspection and depends on condition, volume and current demand.
| Condition | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Ideal | Minimal wear, straight geometry, all end caps intact. |
| Good | Noticeable wear, but the beam still does its job fully. |
| Working | Heavy wear, but the beam can still be used in formwork. |
Non-standard sizes and beams with damaged geometry are valued individually. The final price is named after the inspection.
The main factors in valuing formwork beams
Ideal condition (minimal wear, all end caps intact) is valued highest, good condition (visible wear but fully functional) lower, and working condition (heavy wear but still usable) at the base price. We name the exact amount after inspection.
Lots of 100 beams or more are bought at a better price. Wholesale volumes get priority and a higher price per unit.
H20 (20 cm) and H24 (24 cm) are the most popular sizes and get the top price. H27 (27 cm) — a high price thanks to demand. Non-standard sizes are valued individually.
European manufacturers (Doka, Peri, Meva) — the highest price. Quality Ukrainian beams — a medium price. Chinese — the base buyback price.
Sort the beams by height — H20, H24, H27 — and by length, so the running metres are quick to count.
Put aside beams with cracked flanges, chips or broken end caps — they are valued individually.
Clean off concrete residue: it hides the condition of the flanges.
Before calling, note the quantity, heights, lengths and manufacturer — that is enough to arrange a visit.
Beams are often sold together with the rest of a slab formwork kit. Terms for every type are on the main buyback page.
